Thrupp Cottage

3D Tour

About Your Space

Stunning four bedroom spacious thatched holiday cottage sleeping up to ten guests. Thrupp Cottage is an 17th century thatched cottage adjacent to an old water mill. The property has been restored to the highest standard with many original features, but incorporates modern services with an Aga cooker, high specification kitchen, utility room and networked sound system. Set beside open green space, gated at night, between the famous River Cherwell and Oxford Canal, this is one of the most beautiful and authentic locations in the Oxford region.

Thrupp Cottage is situated just one hundred meters or so from the Oxford Canal at Thrupp, a well known picturesque spot in Oxfordshire. With Oxford and the Cotswolds on your doorstep there is a lot to do and see in the area. One of our favourite and most simple activities is an early morning walk along the canal to watch all the wildlife and to feed the ducks.

Guest quotes

Fantastic character property, we loved our week long stay with family and friends. Located a few moments from the main access road to Kidlington and Oxford, but set in an idyllic part of Thrupp

Outside Area And Garden

There is a lovely garden area at the front of the property and an enclosed private garden at the rear of the cottage.

About The Neighbourhood

The cottage is situated in the hamlet of Thrupp which is a picturesque spot on the Oxford Canal. This is a small canal side community made of thirty or so houses and a lovely pub.  There are always several canal boats moored up along the canal which makes for a very friendly and interesting walk to the pub as everyone says hello.

The cottage is set in small yard which as a little tea house and a canoe hire shop.
